MHS boys on four-game win streak

The Mathews High School boys’ basketball team stayed hot this week as the Blue Devils picked up two more wins on the way to an impressive four-game win streak.

 

Both the varsity and JV Devils traveled to King and Queen on Friday night before hosting Tabb on Saturday. The Mathews varsity squad defeated district-opponent King and Queen, 91-70, right after the JV Devils crushed them by a score of 58-27.

 

The varsity squad was led by Deondre Foster who collected 28 of his team’s 91 points, while Chris Perreault and Stuart Anderson tallied 17 and 13, respectively. Meanwhile, for the JV Devils, Elijah Willis scored 15 points to lead his team. Hunter Hudgins followed him with 10 and Ethan Armistead had nine.

 

The following night, the Blue Devils played host to AA Tabb High School. The JV Blue Devils began the night with four quarters of close play, unfortunately ending the matchup with a 44-36 loss. The varsity Devils, on the other hand, took their ...
