The Mathews High School marching band’s field show, which had been scheduled for this past Friday, was postponed because of the approach of Hurricane Ian and will now be held this Friday, Oct. 7, on the MHS football field, beginning at 6 o’clock.

This marks a busy weekend for the MHS band. On Saturday, band members will head to Gloucester to take part in Bands Along the Bay, a competition featuring schools from throughout the region. The Mathews performance will take place at 2:15 p.m.

Homecoming

The following Friday, Oct. 14, the MHS band will take part in the school’s homecoming activities, beginning with the community parade at 4. The band and cheerleading squad will perform in a field show after the parade is over. The homecoming court will be presented at 6:30 p.m. and a homecoming dance will be held that evening.
