The Mathews High School Marching Blue Devils put on a community show on Friday night, with a number of alumni included in the performance. In top photo from left, MHS band alumni member Lara Jaeger, Toby Eskins, alumni Shawn Jaeger and Liam Barnes, Evelyn Welsh, Ethan White and alumni Amy Gregg performed the National Anthem at the start of the program. The alumni also joined in playing a number of traditional numbers for the crowd. In between, the Marching Devils put on their competition show. Below, Kate Small and others perform that show, titled “Believe.” The Marching Devils will play at Hermitage High School in Richmond in Class 2A competition at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The band will be back in action in the home stadium on Friday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m., and will be joined by the seventh grade Future Marching Blue Devils....
