The Gloucester Genealogical Society of Virginia will at 10 a.m. Monday in the Community Room of Gloucester Library, Main Street Center.
The program, “Memories of Gloucester,” will feature a 2002 Cox Communication video of retired Virginia House Delegate Harvey Bland Morgan and his mother, Mary Louise Bland Morgan. In the video, Morgan guides his mother as she describes her memories of a much earlier Gloucester County and its people. Morgan will be present to answer questions related to the topics and tales presented in the video.
A Gloucester County native and former pharmacist, Morgan graduated from Gloucester County Public Schools and earned a B.A. at Hampden-Sydney College and a B.S. at the Medical College of Virginia, School of Pharmacy. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1957 and later worked as a pharmacist with his father, Dr. L.V. “Happy” Morgan, at the family’s Morgan’s Drug Store in Gloucester Court House.
