Memorial Day service Sunday in Gloucester

American Legion Post 75, Gloucester, will hold its Memorial Day observance from 3-5 p.m. Sunday on the steps of the Gloucester courthouse on Justice Drive. The public is invited to attend.

Cooper White, Cadet Commander for the Gloucester High School NJROTC program, will be the featured speaker, talking on youth and Americanism, according to Joseph J. Dugan of Post 75.

A senior at GHS, White is a recipient of an NROTC scholarship that will cover his tuition as he attends North Carolina State University, where he will study nuclear engineering, Dugan said.

Gloucester’s Memorial Day ceremony traditionally includes the placing of wreaths by representatives of civic organizations along the Gloucester Veterans Memorial Wall.
