MEGHAN MARY FORD

Meghan Mary Ford, 40, of Hayes, passed away peacefully at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital on May 17, 2021. She was born in Anderson, South Carolina, to Brian and Lynn (Dougherty) Ford on November 18, 1980. At the age of 5, she moved with her family to Williamsburg where she attended Walsingham Academy for 13 years. After graduating from high school, she attended Elon University. Meghan loved sports, reading, and had a passionate devotion to help animals in need of a forever home. She is survived by her parents, Brian and Lynn Ford; twin sister, Erin J. Ford (Nathan Curling); brothers, Brian F. Ford Jr. and Michael P. Ford (Alexa Brasher); grandmother, Muriel M. Dougherty; grandfather, Richard J. Ford; aunts and uncles, Pat Benedetti (Bruce), Kevin Dougherty (Ellen), Jim Dougherty (Beth), Dennis Dougherty, Pat Ford, Mary Wilson (Terry), Kerry Ford (Tracy Jones), and cousins, Ricky, Allison, Danny, Kate, Kevin, Theresa, Cate, Tricia, Anne, Caitlin, Kevin, Jimmy, Sarah, Kiley, and her most recent rescue dog, “Sherman.” She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James E. Dougherty; her grandmother, Dorothea M. Ford, and her uncle, Richard J. Ford Jr. Her family will be celebrating her life privately.
