With Sibley’s General Store undergoing major renovations, the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center will be operating from a temporary location on Brickbat Road until sometime this summer. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday throughout February.

The address of the office is 260 Main Street, but the entrance is on Brickbat Road behind Storybound Construction and across the street from the side entrance to Mi Casa Azteca. Directional stake signs will be placed along Main Street to help direct visitors to the new location.

The visitor’s center will have such Mathews merchandize for sale as cups, hats, stickers, shirts, koozies, and more. It will also have area information available, including brochures, maps, and books, and volunteer concierge staff will be onsite to answer questions.
