The Gloucester County School Board appointed Nicole McPherson as the interim at-large school board member effective Sept. 9 through Dec. 31, following Monday’s special closed meeting.

McPherson holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and is currently employed at Progressive Insurance, specializing in conflict resolution and mediating disputes in large loss handling. She has two children in Gloucester County Public Schools.

McPherson replaces Kellie Lockerby, who resigned from the board on Aug. 4. In the upcoming November election, voters will choose from among three candidates to fill the remainder of Lockerby’s unexpired term which ends Dec. 31, 2025—Fred A. Brewer Jr., Deborah L. McDonough or Matthew Ray Nash.
