Maude Anderson Carter, 81, of Mathews, departed this life on Thursday, July 8, 2021. She is survived by a loving and devoted son, John Lamont “Marty” Carter (Bridget), and a step-grandson, Neil, all of Mathews; sisters, Mary O. Gwynn, Mathews, Elizabeth F. Harris, King and Queen, Helen M. Braswell, Dover, N.J., and Elise L. “Doll” Scott, Gloucester.
A funeral will take place Saturday, July 17 at 1 p.m. at Newington Baptist Church, 6169 Main Street, Gloucester. A viewing will be held Friday, July 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Masks will be required at the funeral, as well as the viewing.
