Mattie Senora Greene, 95, of Gloucester, died peacefully Aug. 13, 2015 at her home.

She was a lifelong native of Gloucester County, a daughter of the late Walter and Georgie Rowe. 

She was a member of Providence Baptist Church most of her life and was one of the oldest members at the time of her death. Senora enjoyed cooking, gardening, raising her chickens, crocheting, her church and most of all her family. She treasured family gatherings having everyone with her. The beautiful qualities of Senora’s life shall endure forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Malvin Greene.

She is survived by her son, James R. “Jimmy” Greene and his wife Kathleen; daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Hogge; grandchildren, Martha Bjers and husband John, and Casey Laine Hogge Jenkins; great-grandchildren, James Thomas Richardson and Kathryn Elizabeth Bjers, and brother, James Wilbur Rowe.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Deborah T. Marion and the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr. were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
