Families across Mathews, Middlesex, and Gloucester counties are invited to enjoy a funfilled morning at Healthy Kids Day 2026, hosted by the Mathews Family YMCA from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The free community event will take place at the Y, located at 33 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins. There will be a petting zoo with Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue, hula hoop and cornhole games sponsored by the Mathews Rotary Club, free children’s books provided by Friends of the Mathews Memorial Library, and arts and crafts with the Bay School, said a press release. Families can also enjoy the large inflatable slide, along with many other activities designed to keep kids moving, learning, and smiling. Healthy Kids Day helps inspire families to stay active, not only during the summer months but all year long, said the release.
