Mathews woman charged with fraud

A Mathews woman was charged with computer fraud and the theft of government property in documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia last Thursday. 

In the documents, federal prosecutors charged Michelle M. Holt, 52, of Mathews with fraudulently altering pay records to her benefit and receiving approximately $1,460,262 from fraudulently obtained overtime pay, holiday premium pay, annual leave and sick leave. 

The crimes occurred from January 2002 through June 2018, according to the documents, while Holt was a civilian employee of the U.S. Air Force. ...
