Mathews County Triad’s Senior Health Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the social hall at Mathews Baptist Church at Hudgins. The doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Guests will be welcomed by members of Mathews S.A.L.T. (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) and will participate in singing the National Anthem and saying a prayer.

Information booths and social time will be held from 9:30 to 10, with breakfast muffins and coffee available. There will also be health screenings and flu shots.

Information sessions will follow, with Tina Thomas of the Alzheimer’s Association discussing “Caregiving and Taking Care of the Caregiver” from 11-11:30 and Dr. Jeanne Brooks of Hampton Roads Eye Associates, Riverside Medical Group, providing information about Vision and Aging.

A noon lunch will include Brunswick stew or vegetable beef soup, with entertainment provided by pianist/singer Sheila Johnson.
