Mathews to be showcased this weekend at Market Days

More than 90 booths will be displayed at the 37th annual Mathews Market Days, known as "The Showcase of a Creative Community" on Friday and Saturday.

Festivities will begin on the court green Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and continue Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Booths will display local arts and crafts including woodworking, jewelry, table linens, lamps, decorative flags, books, quilts, stained glass, plants, home-baked breads and cakes, and many more homemade and handmade products, according to Market Days spokesperson Trudy Flippin. Local organizations will also offer financial awareness, animal care advice and more, she said.

Ongoing during the festival, a number of food vendors, located in the food court adjacent to the court green, will sell crab cakes, clam chowder, hamburgers, hot dogs, sno-cones, barbecue, handmade kettle corn, funnel cakes, crab soup, steamed shrimp, ice cream and more.
