Mathews tennis beats Middlesex, Northampton

The Mathews High School girls’ tennis team posted a pair of home victories in recent action, defeating Middlesex last Wednesday, 8-1, and Northampton on Tuesday, 7-2. Middlesex Since this was the second match against Middlesex, the teams played two out of three sets, except for number three doubles who played an eight-game pro set. In singles, playing number one, Lyla Duff faced Vada Reinhardt and won her first set, 6-4, and then tied the second, 6-6, which led to a tie breaker, which Duff won, 7-1. Ella Ward played number two against Annie Bray and won both her sets, 6-3. Playing number three, Delaney Boatman had an amazing win against Kinsey Mckittrick, winning her first set, 6-0, and her second, 6-2.
