Following winter break, Mathews High School teams return to regular season action, starting Tuesday.

The MHS boys’ basketball team will host Middlesex on Tuesday night, starting with the JV contest at 5:30, with the varsity game following at 7. The MHS girls’ teams travel to Saluda to face the Chargers, with those games at the same time. Basketball games are also scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 5 against Essex (girls at home; boys away) and Friday, Jan. 6 against Carver Academy (boys at home; girls on the road).

The Mathews High Scholastic Bowl squad hosts Charles City County on Tuesday in the MHS media center, beginning at 5 p.m. Mathews and Middlesex will face off in Scholastic Bowl action Jan. 5, also at Mathews High, beginning at 5.

On Wednesday, Jan. 4, the MHS wrestling team will travel to King William to face Westmoreland and the host Cavaliers.
