Mathews supervisors to meet Dec. 12

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will have a special meeting at 1:30 p.m. next Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the historic courthouse to talk with the county attorney and county staff about proposed amendments to the junk vehicle and litter control ordinances.

Public hearings were held on the proposed amendments in October, but the board took no action.

If approved, the amendments would give county staff the authority to handle violations of the ordinances administratively rather than seeking court action.
