Mathews supervisors looking at busy February

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors has scheduled several meetings over the next three weeks to deal with a variety of matters. All meetings will be held in the historic courthouse on Court Street, and each will provide an opportunity for public comment.

A special called meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday for discussions involving the Broadband Advisory Board, a contract with Premiere Broadband LLC, and two full-time positions that were approved by the board on Jan. 25—a procurement position and an IT position. There will also be a discussion of the interim county administrator’s contract and a closed session for discussion of the county administrator position in order to move forward in the interview process.

Next Thursday, Feb. 10, the board will hold a special called meeting at 6 p.m. to adopt a schedule for development of the FY 2022-2023 budget and to hear presentations from agencies and departments on their budget needs for the upcoming year.
