Mathews students earn blue ribbon awards at state conference

Fourteen Mathews students and four adults won blue ribbons for their artwork and crafts at the Virginia State Conference of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs in Richmond. Two students also won blue ribbons in the writing contest.

Student blue ribbon art winners were:

Thomas Hunter Middle School: Mikalia Stebbins, Samantha Clevinger, Logan Grover, Allison Foster, Veronica Cummings, Tyler Riley, Rayne Massimino, Gus Bauby, Jamie Robins, Tristan Hill and Lauren Mitchem.

Mathews High School: Sabrina Myers, Amanda Pugh, Christopher Perreault, Abbie Sorey and Laura Prowom-Soles.

Blue ribbons for poetry went to Lee-Jackson Elementary student Joshua Anthony and THMS student Ali Haynes.
