Mathews County Public Schools was scheduled to hold end-of-year ceremonies at all three schools yesterday to recognize its employees for their years of service as well as those approaching retirement.
Mathews Elementary was set to hold the first such observance in the Cafetorium it shares with Thomas Hunter Middle School. Years of Service pins were to be awarded to Christina Davis (20 years); Amy Shaw and Laurie Walden (25 years); Amy Hudgins and Pat Moughon (30 years), and Terrie Cooke (35 years). Susan Foster was to receive a plaque for her retirement, after working the past 14 years in the school’s cafeteria.
After that, Thomas Hunter Middle School was to hold its observance also in the Cafetorium. Service pins were to be given to Leslie Hudgins and Tiffanie Wheeler (15 years); Pam Hudgins (20 years), and Deborah Lowe (25 years). A retirement plaque was to be presented to Sally A. Dispirito for her 31 years in education, including three with Mathews schools.
The final award program was to be held at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. At the MHS program, pins were to be presented to Katelyn Dodge and Rachel Morris (10 years), Ginger Case, Charles Forrest, Deborah Todd, Donna Croxton and Yvonne Rich (15 years); Drew Greve, Christy Henderson and Susan Sanderson (20 years) and Lee Anne Bray (25 years). A retirement plaque was to be awarded to MHS teacher/athletic director Al Thomas (21 years).
Additionally, Jennifer Jackson of the MCPS central office was to receive a 10-year pin for her service.
