Mathews County Public Schools recently participated in the Civilian Response Casualty Care Training as a part of the school division’s annual safety professional development.
Specialized trainers from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services—Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety Office conducted four, four-hour sessions over a two-day period for all school division employees on Oct. 14 and 28.
“Safety for our students and employees will always be our top priority,” said Superintendent of Schools Nancy Welch. “This training continues to build our response skills in the event of an emergency situation in one of our schools."
“I am grateful for the partnership with the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office for recommending and coordinating this event,” Welch added.
