Mathews School Board to hold Town Hall meeting tonight

The Mathews County School Board will hold a town hall tonight, Thursday, Oct. 23, to give residents a chance to address the school board about issues of concern to them.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the J. Murray Brooks Auditorium at Thomas Hunter Middle School. Citizens who wish to speak will have the opportunity to approach the podium, one at a time, to ask a question. Each question should be no more than two minutes in length.

According to the format, school board members and/or the superintendent will address each question. Once a question has been addressed, the citizen will have up to two minutes for one follow-up question or rebuttal.

Once initial questions from citizens have been addressed, as time permits, each citizen will be able to ask a maximum of two additional questions. Those unable to attend the meeting in person, or who prefer to submit their questions by email, may do so by using the Google form on the division website (www.mathews.k12.va.us) by noon today. Questions will be read aloud and discussed at the meeting, if time allows.

The meeting will adjourn no later than 8 p.m.
