The Mathews County School Board will hold a special meeting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 to consider a request to release a student from compulsory attendance for religious reasons. The school board made the announcement of this special meeting on Friday. The special meeting in the school board office, 63 Church Street, will precede the division’s previously scheduled legislative school tour, beginning at 9 a.m. at Thomas Hunter Middle School.
