Mathews runners win at W&L meet

The Mathews High School cross country team traveled to Montross last Wednesday for a meet against Northumberland, Rappahannock and the host Washington and Lee Eagles. Both the boys’ and girls’ team came out with a win.

The girls’ team won the race with a total of 16 points. Adelle Hudgins (JV) came in first overall with a time of 24:39, followed by Abbie Hudgins (24:44), Avery Betz (24:57), Emily Rosadino (JV) (24:58), Zoe Camp (JV) (26:53), Caroline Bray (26:54), Alexis Deagle (28:35) and Kamryn Blake (32:19).

The boys’ team won the race with 18 team points. Josh Rosadino came in first overall with a time of 18:45, Isaiah Bivins (19:33), Dennis Wood (20:29), Finn Ciszewski (20:34), Braden Hunley (20:35), Dylan White (22:35), Aiden Sowers (JV) (25:31) and Henry Hospodar (27:37).

The team was scheduled to race yesterday at Beaverdam Park against King William, Middlesex, Northampton, Rappahannock and Washington and Lee. ...
