The Mathews Rotary Club will hold a rockfish tournament on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Morningstar Marina on Mill Point Road in Hudgins. The cut-off time is 4 p.m.

Registration is from 4-8 p.m. on Dec. 9 at the American Legion Hall on Buckley Hall Road at Hudgins. There will be food, a raffle and live music.

The entry fee is $150 for four anglers.

The first-place prize will be $3,000; second place, $2,000; and third place, $1,000. There will also be a $400 prize for the winner in the senior category, $400 for the winner in the ladies’ category, and $200 for the youth category winner.

Total cash prizes will amount to $7,000, based on 47 boats competing. If fewer boats compete, the prizes will be prorated.

Proceeds will benefit Mathews Rotary scholarships. The club has awarded over $10,000 in academic and vocational scholarships and in contributions to other non-profits, such as Little League, YMCA, Boys & Girls Club and Hands Across Mathews.
