Seventh and eighth grade students (including home school equivalency) are invited to participate in the Mathews Rotary Club’s "Rotary Four-Way Test" essay contest.
Winners will receive plaques and cash prizes: $50 for first place, $30 for second, and $20 for third. The winning essay will be forwarded to the district level, where students will vie for prizes of $250-$1,000.
In the essay (500 to 1,500 words in length), students are asked to address how he or she applies the Rotary Four-Way Test to his/her daily living. The Four-Way Test is based on four questions: "Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good-will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?"
