Mathews road cleanup set for Nov. 13

The Mathews Community fall roadside cleanup is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 13, with a rain date of Nov. 20.

Twice a year—in the spring and fall—the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center holds roadside cleanup and invites Adopt-a-Highway volunteers and community groups to work together to clean up county roads for the upcoming season.

Families, groups, and organizations are invited to make up groups of at least two people to pick up a section of road.

Groups will meet between 8 and 9 a.m. at the Visitor Center at 239 Main Street to sign in and receive safety and route information and equipment. Coffee and donuts will be available, along with nets, safety vests, trash bags and gloves.
