Mathews County has slipped from third to fourth place in Budget Travel’s Coolest Small Towns in America poll. Mathews Visitor and Information Center executive director Ann Miller is encouraging residents and their friends and families to vote once a day on BudgetTravel.com until the poll ends Feb. 25.

“We thought we were doing very well, but it’s easy to forget voting unless it impacts you,” Miller said. “Since Mathews would love to have the bragging rights to be awarded the status of Coolest Town in the USA, it really impacts all residents of Mathews and most of them have been voting daily since the contest began.”

She asked for all of those residents who have been faithfully voting to send out the plea to people in their e-mail databases and to their friends and family far and wide, to try to get them motivated to vote daily as well.
