The Mathews County School Board, at its Oct. 17 meeting, received a presentation from Mathews High School’s two new NJROTC cadets William Ware (at podium) and Zachary Salvadori (standing behind him). MHS students were given the opportunity for the first time this year to take part in the NJROTC program offered at Gloucester High School. Senior Chief Al Grant, at right, praised the Mathews cadets. They’re “good kids; send more,” he told the school board. School board members urged Ware and Salvadori, now sophomores, to stick with the program. “You will learn a lot when it comes to leadership,” school board chairman John Priest said.
