Sareeta Spriggs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Spriggs and Faye Spriggs of Cardinal, received the 2018 Strayer University Outstanding Alumni Award.
The award honors an accomplished Strayer University graduate who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in his or her professional, public or personal life, a release said.
Spriggs received the award during commencement exercises held at Capital One Arena, Washington, D.C.; at the event she shared the stage with musician and actress Queen Latifah, who was this year’s commencement speaker.
Spriggs is a 1995 graduate of Mathews High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in biology and information from Norfolk State University and an master of business administration degree from Strayer University.
She is also a graduate of the United Way’s Project Inclusion Program; The National Urban League’s Emerging Leader Program, and the District of Columbia Government Capital City Fellows Program.
