Mathews County Little League is moving ahead with plans for its spring season, according to president Ricky Wiatt.
“As we did with fall ball, we will be conducting only in-person registrations or mail-in registrations,” Wiatt said. Mathews Little League will hold registrations at its fields from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday; 5 to 7 p.m. next Wednesday, Feb. 10 and 10 a.m. to noon the following Saturday, Feb. 13.
Mathews Little League will have teams for boys and girls ages 3 to 16. As they did in the fall, T-ball will be broken into two age brackets, minors (ages 3 and 4) and majors (ages 5 and 6); these teams will only play locally.
Mathews Little League is available to families within Mathews and Gloucester counties. The registration fee is $70 per player levels Machine Pitch and older; $50 for T-ball. A fundraiser raffle will be held in the spring; if a player does not wish to participate in that, there is a $30 fee.
