Pumpkins on Main, a special day for children and their parents in downtown Mathews, will be held from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, beginning with a “Haunt Your Library” party at 3 o’clock at Mathews Memorial Library.
Parents will be able try their luck in merchants’ raffles, with several chances to win, and passersby will be able to vote on “witch” merchant’s display window is their favorite, said a press release.
A costume trick-or-treat parade will begin at 4 p.m. at the Mathews Visitor and Information Center, and special treats will be available at Richardson’s Café, Southwind Café and the White Dog Bistro.
The event is sponsored by the library, Belmont Pumpkin Farm, and the Mathews Main Street Committee.
