Mathews Christmas Parade

Beautiful weather and committee efforts made Saturday's Mathews Christmas parade one of the longest in recent memory, with 50 entries, said organizer Joanne Mulvaney of the Mathews Visitor and Information Center. She said everyone loved it and had a great time.

Winning entries in the parade were: Best Civic, DAV; Best Walking, Knights of Columbus; Best Small Motor, Terry Putt and the Shriners; Best Big Truck, Janet Martin’s Nana Camp; Best School, Mathews High School homecoming queen; Best Church, Zion Baptist; Best Antique Car, Hank and Lisa Kroese; Best Commercial, Morris Enterprises; Best Pick-up, Mathews County Historical Society; Best Themed Float, Thomas Hunter Middle School 6th grade; Best Animal Entry, Lazy "H" Ranch. ...
