Windmill Point lighthouse keeper William Edward “Eddie” Davis (1861-1932), a Mathews native, was remembered by the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society for his 23 years of service in a ceremony on Saturday at H.C. Smither Memorial Cemetery at Hudgins. It was one of six ceremonies held on Saturday at cemeteries in Mathews. A USLHS grave marker and flag was placed at each gravesite.
