Mathews CC administrator receives leadership award

Don Lundin, administrator of Riverside Mathews Convalescent Center, has received the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award from the American College of Health Care Administrators for work done at the center.

Lundin joined the center in March 2017 after the retirement of long-time administrator Guy Shelton. In a release, Lundin credited Shelton with establishing many of the elements that led to this recognition, including establishing a core group of team members who share a commitment to quality.

“The accomplishments of the Mathews Convalescent Center did not happen overnight,” Lundin said. “We’ve long been recognized for excellent patient satisfaction thanks to a cohesive team and a dedication to providing the best care.” He pointed out that many of his staff members have worked together for so long that they can practically finish each other’s sentences.
