Mathews BZA to meet next week

The Mathews County Board of Zoning Appeals will consider an appeal of an administrative decision made by Planning and Zoning Director John Shaw during a meeting at 7 p.m. next Wednesday, April 13, in the historic courthouse on Court Street.

Shaw determined that a property on Belmont Lane in North was being used as a tourist home, which would require approval of a conditional use permit, rather than as a summer or vacation cabin for seasonal occupancy, which is a by-right use in the R-1 zoning district.
