Mathews board to meet Monday afternoon

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will meet at 3 p.m. Monday in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School.

Among the items on the agenda is the consideration of several applications for conditional use permits that are awaiting the board’s decision. These include Mathews Maritime Foundation’s request to create a maritime park on county-owned property on Gwynn’s Island, Rhetson LLC’s request to place a Dollar General at the intersection of Routes 198 and 3 at Cobbs Creek, Mathews Materials LLC’s request to place a sand and gravel operation in the industrial park, and Hahn Equipment Rental’s request to operate a home enterprise for the purpose of renting construction equipment.

The board will also consider a request by the Mathews Broadband Advisory Board to use American Rescue Plan funds to continue providing cellular service for another six months at eight data poles around the county.
