A winner has been chosen for the Susan home that was featured as the DIY Network’s Blog Cabin during a series that debuted in August.

Carol Livingston of Cincinnati received the DIY call on her birthday telling her that she had been randomly selected from among more than 8.9 million entries to win the home.

Livingston said she plans to use the house on Bellevue Road as vacation property for her family until retirement. Then, the couple is considering permanently moving to Mathews.

"I have not had the chance to visit Mathews County, but I have heard how beautiful the area is and how friendly the people are; so my family and I are excited to visit soon," Livingston said. "I am very fortunate to have a good friend whose parents live in Mathews County, and they are excited to introduce us to the area."
