The Mathews High School varsity softball team beat Gloucester, 10-3, last Wednesday, May 19, at Gloucester.Aly Jackson had two RBIs, as well as Kelsey Ryan and Chelsea Armistead. Emily West had one RBI.
Reese Brock scored a triple, Abbie Hudgins had three singles, West and Morgan Crittenden had two singles each, and Jackson, Joice Small, Ryan and Armistead had one single each. West pitched a complete game for Mathews.
Gloucester
Lady Dukes Kaia Hutton, Grace Saunders and Kimber Rainey each had one RBI. Hutton scored three singles, Leighann Harper and Saunders had two singles, and Grace Sinko VanLiew, Elaina Ward, Sierra West, Hailey Hardaway and Rainey had one single each.
