Mathews author releases ‘Are We Having Fun Yet?’

Author Charlie Finley of Mathews, recently released his book on humor, “Are We Having Fun Yet?”

A compilation of 22 stories, the book tells about pranks the author has played on people in various situations and shares stories from his three days at Woodstock and his whitewater canoeing adventures. It also includes samples of bogus letters, fake newspaper articles, and signs that Finley describes as “fun to post, just to inflict some preposterous poking.” It wraps up with “A Starter Kit for Budding Pranksters.”

Finley shares the story of how he came to write the book on his Amazon sales page, recounting a “sleepless night wrestling with a painful kidney stone,” during which “I thought I might die and never have fun again.” After this experience, he “got the crazy notion that it would be fun to write a book about fun.”

“We all need a spoonful of honey each day,” said Finley on his page. “Whether spontaneous or contrived, exhaustive scientific research has shown even a small dose of fun is essential for our mental health, our happiness and our outlook on life. It’s not just for kids; if you’re not having some fun, your cup is not full.”

The 168-page book was published by BookBaby in November. It is available for $17.99 in paperback on amazon.com.
