Mathews artist Maurine Frank has written and illustrated a charming children’s book, “Blue Crab Finds a Home: Affirmations for Kids.”

With colorful paintings of beach-dwelling creatures and their environment, the book tells the story of Blue Crab leaving the “yucky mucky marsh” and traveling to see “the wonders of the seashore” and to find a cache of colored rocks to live in.

Before he leaves, his mother tells him he can do anything as long as he has determination. During his travels, he helps out others and their words of appreciation lead him to accept his own positive qualities.
