Jim Brant was recently awarded Emeritus status for his service to the Gloucester Extension Master Gardeners. Brant has logged 2,516 volunteer hours since joining the program in 2006. He was actively involved with the American Rhododendron Society and regularly gave presentations about his efforts to preserve native azaleas on Hooper’s Bald near Robbinsville, North Carolina. He also hosted annual tours of his home garden for residents of Walter Reed Convalescent Center. Rose Sullivan is shown presenting Brant his certificate and pin.
