Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue responded to an abandoned house fire late Sunday on Maryus Road. Robert Parlett said the call came in at 8:43 p.m. and the house was fully involved when responders arrived. AVFR brought three engines, one tanker and one medic unit. Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue responded with support by sending one tanker and one engine. Parlett said that the cause of the fire was still unknown. There were no injuries.
