MaryAnn Chandler of Hudgins, Va., passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Born Dec. 26, 1927 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of James M. and Miriam Bowling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Fred H. Chandler Jr., who died in 2009. She and Fred relocated to Hudgins in 1992 after living in Arlington and Falls Church, Va.

MaryAnn was active in the Garden Club and Woman’s Club in Mathews, Friends of the Mathews Memorial Library, and taught exercise classes on Gwynn’s Island for many years.

MaryAnn is survived by two brothers, David Bowling of Virginia Beach, and Robert Bowling of North Carolina; children, Elizabeth Eshleman (Keith), Daniel H. Chandler (Elaine) and Nancy Taylor; grandchildren, Christopher Holup, Adam Eshleman, Lee Taylor, Thomas Taylor, Neal Eshleman and Sarah Taylor and two great-grandchildren.
