MARY PRICE SIMMONS CONNER

Mary Price Simmons Conner passed peacefully in her sleep Jan. 3, 2016 in Gloucester, Va.

Born in Chatham County, N.C., on June 11, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John Anderson Simmons and Stella Snead Simmons.

She was raised in Mebane and Greensboro, N.C., and traveled the world as a military wife. She was a resident of Williamsburg since 1949 and a member of Williamsburg Baptist Church and Fidelis Sunday School class.

She was a homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed golf, boating, travel, gardening, and most of all Bridge. She played Bridge twice a month until she was about 93 years old. We remind ourselves that hers was a life well lived, full of love, family and travel with enjoyable memories and experiences. We will all fall back on good memories of her pretty smile and blue eyes.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Ann Conner (Wally Bowler) of Gloucester; son, Timothy Hugh Conner of Williamsburg; three granddaughters, Maryann Haynie Hogge (Matt), Ainsley Price Tetreault (Alex) and Alison Beth Conner (Drew Carlyle); and two great-grandsons, Tabb Hogge and Luke Tetreault.

A private graveside service will be held on Jan. 8, 2016 at the Williamsburg Memorial Park.

Those who wish may make memorials to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the Air Warrior Courage Foundation.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ron Haggerty and his staff at Direct Access for their outstanding care.
