A graveside funeral service for Mary L. McComas, 89, of Yorktown, was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery, Newport News. She died April 21, 2017.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Peninsula Rescue Mission for 30 years, and also worked in their thrift store. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Beauford Davis McComas; parents, Ulysses and Eunice Davis; brothers, Robert Davis and James Davis; sister, Martha McLaurin, and daughter, Sharon Smith.

Survivors include her children, Barbara McCormick, Terry Knight, David McComas, and Toni Stalnaker; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. 

The service was conducted by the Rev. Lindsay Poteat.
