Mary Imogen McElroy passed away at age 95 on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, in Gloucester, Virginia.

Imogen was born at Wheatland Farm to Fielding and Louise Dickinson on May 22, 1921. She graduated from Lloyds High School and went on to earn a degree in fashion design from Berté School of Design of Philadelphia. She worked on the fashion floor of Thalhimers in Richmond, Virginia. She later worked at Tidewater Memorial Hospital in Tappahannock, then went on to own a country store in Champlain, Virginia, until she retired.

Imogen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman; her sisters, Nancy Dickinson and Betty Bance, and her brother, Fielding Dickinson. She is survived by her children, Pete McElroy and Nancy Halstead, and grandchildren, Morgen McElroy, Charles Halstead, Elizabeth Halstead, and John Halstead. 

Visitation will be held at Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock, on Friday, September 30 from 5-7 p.m. A graveside burial service will be held at Wheatland Farm in Loretto, Virginia, on Saturday, October 1, at 11 a.m.
