Mary F. Brown, age 78, of Hayes, was blessed to be surrounded by her family as she passed away peacefully in her home on July 14, 2016.

Mary was born and raised in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, the place she always called home, almost heaven. After meeting the love of her life while visiting other family in Virginia, she and Bubba Brown married and started the beginning of their nearly 60 years of marriage on July 21, 1956. 

Mary had many passions in life but her greatest accomplishment was her loving family. More than anything she treasured spending time with them and her dear friends, whom she always held very close to her heart.  

She is survived by her husband, Melvin “Bubba” Eugene Brown; daughters, Genia B. Allen and husband Rick of Gloucester, Va., and Selina Lehman and husband Mark of Tampa, Fla.; grandson, Chad Allen and wife Caroline; granddaughter, Corey Kellum and husband Mark; sister, Annie Robbins and husband Cliff; brother-in-law, Johnnie “Butch” Hudgins and wife Margaret, and her beloved poodle companion, Buddy. Her memory will live on in their hearts forever. 

The family of Mary would like to extend a special thank you to the team at Riverside Hospice and Dr. Peter Zullo; and their immeasurable love to both Jennifer Wright and Lydia Bass Fuller for their never-ending devotion and support.
