MARY EVELYN JENKINS CLEMENTS

Mary Evelyn Jenkins Clements, 98, of Gloucester, Va., passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012, in the Gloucester House.

She was a native of Gwynn’s Island, the daughter of the late James F. and Etta Goode Jenkins, and the widow of Wilbur Brown Clements.

She worked with her husband for many years at the Western Auto in Gloucester and also worked in the Emma Jane Shop and also the Village Clothes Tree. She was a member of Newington Baptist Church and also the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son, Ronald W. Clements and his wife Terri of Glen Allen, Va.; two grandsons, and three very special nieces, Jamie Callis, Lanie Kent, and Peggy Robbins.

The family received friends at Newington Baptist Church on Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 2-3 p.m. with funeral services by the Rev. Michael Gray at 3 o’clock. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Gloucester House and also to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice for their special care.

Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, was in charge of arrangements.
