MARY CAMPBELL PARKER

Mary Campbell Parker, 69, of Gloucester, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, and had made her home on the Peninsula for the past 62 years. Mary started her career with NNPS as a cook, becoming the head cook at Dozier Middle School and ended her career as a specialist in the NNPS media services department after 25 years of service. While working and raising her children she received her Associate’s Degree from TNCC and obtained her real estate license, passing on her first try! Her faith was important to her. She was a former member of Deep Creek Friends Church and had recently joined Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church in Gloucester. She loved spending time in her yard and on her porch. Family meant everything to her.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John W. Parker; her sons, John W. Parker Jr. of Williamsburg, and Jeff Parker and his wife Annah of Gloucester; her daughter, Stephanie LaFrance and her husband George Jr. of Newport News, and her six grandchildren, Clint and Jake LaFrance, Bryce and Samantha Parker, and Lauren and Kaitlyn Parker.

The family received friends on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. Garry Livermon of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church.
